Spindle Turning

In spindle turning class students will learn how to sharpen and use a roughing gouge, skew chisel, and scrapers. A new project each week will enable students to learn and practice a different spindle turning technique.
Bowl Turning
Course Length: 10 weeks

Students participating in this class will learn face-plate turning techniques as we take a bowl from tree to finished product. Also included in this course are instruction on platters and hollow vessels. Tool sharpening is also covered.
Power Carving
Course Length: 10 weeks
Cost: $550

This course will encompass the use of rotary type power carvers. This is a fine detail oriented class which includes layout and design on turned and non-turned projects. Surface textures will be included. Ideas for topics can be leaves, nature, decorative fluting, scallops, etc. Bring your ideas, or I can suggest one for you.
Chisel Carving
Course Length: 10 weeks
Cost: $550
Class size: 2 to 5 students
This course will teach traditional carving techniques. We will begin with proper tool sharpening methods and continue with relief carving, carving in the round and chip carving. Classes can also be tailored to students’ needs.
